Ceramics are the form of my personal expression and have been a constant on and off in my life for over 30 years. Over those years I have returned to hand building and slip casting drawn by the endless ways clay can be shaped, challenged, and transformed.
Slip casting allows me to challenge myself to make a common form look completely different every time.
Hand building is amazing because, by taking a block of clay, I can create pieces that could either serve a purpose or have no purpose other than to make someone smile.
In addition to ceramics, I love drawing “whimsical” art, and I often take inspiration from my three long-haired dachshund girls.
I embrace the imperfection of ceramics and the imagination of my “whimsical” art. Each final product is unique and beautiful in its own individual way.
